Explore the unconventional Google Thailand office
We are so excited to tell you that we had a chance to visit Google office Thailand today. (20/10/2015) It was such an amazing experience seeing all the office designs and meeting with all Thai Googlers especially Mrs. Amy Kunrojpanya, the Head of Communications & Public Affairs at Google. Let us share our experience with you!

We set off from Thammasat University at 11:30 a.m and reached the office around 13:12 p.m. The office was located in the heart of Bangkok, Ploenchit area on the 14th floor of the iServe Park Venture building. It wasn’t difficult to travel there because it was connected to Pleonchit BTS Skytrain station and the Park Venture building is located in the corner of the junction. You can view the building from far. (See where exactly is the building click!)

Why Google is in Park Venture building?
According to Mrs. Amy Kunrojpanya, Google wanted to be a leader and be at the center of everything. Park Venture is located at Ploenchit which is in the middle of Bangkok, where everyone can find all energy requirements, footprints, water facilities as well as good environmental surroundings.

At Park Venture reception, we need to present our ID card in order to get a pass card to access in and out the building. And as soon as we arrived at the 14th floor, we are warmly welcomed by a receptionist from Google Thailand who again handle us Google Guest cards.
Explore Google Thailand's office!
We were amazed of how the company could infuse Thailand's identities into the workspace. For example, there is a real Tuk-tuk in the office.

The rooms are named differently with various Thailand's cities and food. For example, Hua-hin, Rattanakosin or Tom-yum Goong etc. They have different parts of Thailand like northern, southern and E-san part painted on a wall.

They named a little tiny green space where Googlers can do a collaborative work, ‘Suan Lum’ or Lumpini Garden. The company also provide its employees with facilities like gyms and snooker table for them to relax from stresses during work hours.

They also have a canteen called ‘Yao-wa-rach’ or China Town where you can find interesting food in Bangkok. Here, there are varieties of food, sweets, snacks and alcohol drinks. The tables here are big where many people can sit together at once. This is because Google believes that ideas could emerge from a conversation just like how Gmail was born.
Figure 8: The podium in the meeting room
The whole office is an opened-space where there would be no doors. This also means that everyone is equal and allow to share ideas and thoughts together. This is because Google beliefs that “If you give people freedom, they will amaze you”

Good environment and surroundings are always important for employees in the workspace and we think Google deserves an applause for making it super duper good.
Creativity can’t just come from a blink of an eye and there is no shortcut for it. We need time and inspiration. We need to expose ourselves to something wider in order to learn more. And Google understand that concept. If you are a person with ability, please do not hesitate to join the Google team and be the Googler!
